Mr Kochansky from Taboola is our guest this week. Taboola was founded in 2007 and is widely recognized as one of the biggest names in public advertising. Thanks to Taboola over 1.4 billion people each month get served 360 billion content recommendations and news in real-time. If you ever visited websites like Bloomberg, NBC News, Le Figaro, MSN, The Independent or The Weather Channel it is highly likely you saw their feed serving recommendations.

  • First of all, let me say thank you on behalf of team Ocamba for agreeing to this interview. Could you tell us something more about yourself - what do you do, and what’s your position at Taboola?

Mr Kochansky: Hello! My name is Oren Kochansky, and I’m a mobile R&D team leader in Taboola. My team’s goal is to further optimize the company’s mobile department performance by constantly providing new insights from the industry.

Keeping up with the Taboola needs is not an easy task, and that is why we need both an efficient R&D team and a software solution that can adequately support that growth, and that is where Ocamba steps to the scene.


  • What made you start using Ocamba? What challenges were you trying to overcome?

Mr Kochansky: At the time, we wanted to offer our end-users a push notification service and help them maximize their revenue through increased user engagement.

We were looking for sustainability and continuity in the performance of the solution we would use in the first place, as well as the options for advanced targeting. I’m glad to say that all of our requirements were met.


  • Which Ocamba’s features are the most valuable for your company?

Mr Kochansky: Ocamba gives you; I would say, endless possibilities when it comes to fine-tuning the set- up for your push notifications strategy. Ocamba provides you with many features, but I would single out the Custom User data feature for targeting and User Time Zone optimization.

When Custom User Data is called into targeting, you can segment users with various additional parameters! Combining it with the User Time Zone optimization, where it’s valuable to target a base of users at a specific time, it was a winning combination to minimize the number of unsubscribers.


  • Did using Ocamba help achieve your business goals, and how?

Mr Kochansky: It helped us to increase user engagement and maximize revenue. We can offer our customers a more complete solution, and not only that but there’s a constant overall improvement, putting everyone in a high position in the competitive market. It’s a win-win for Taboola and our customers as well.


  • Would you recommend using Ocamba to other businesses, and if so, why?

Mr Kochansky: Of course, to any business in this industry. Custom reports provided us with more detailed statistics, and through Ocamba’s BI, we can track the data by a wide range of parameters for optimization.
